Why is Yglesias calling for more votes for the GOP?
Does he even realize what he is arguing for here?

Matt Yglesias, a few days ago:
To win elections, candidates need money. To win elections, it also typically helps to be moderate. But most small donors are quite left-wing, so the conventional wisdom in politics is that elected officials face sharp tradeoffs here. But…I’d like to send a signal to the world that there is a national network of donors who want to support moderates running in tough races.
Nothing surprising here. Yglesias is an outspoken critic of the left who regularly calls for “moderation” among Democrats, so it makes sense that he would try to find ways to pull electoral politics in his direction. Still, over the years I’ve found that when Gen-X bloggers cite an academic paper it’s often a good idea to call their bluff and actually read the paper.
