In case you aren’t familiar with this term, the “dirtbag left” was a name coined by Amber A’Lee Frost to refer to a certain cultural and political tendency that emerged among socialists in 2016. Even today if you asked the average American what the dirtbag left was they would have no idea what you’re talking about, but if you asked anyone who was sufficiently online, they would probably say something like “Bernie Bros who rejected civility.” That, I think, is a simplification on two fronts.
