Democrats have decided to focus on economic issues against Trump, according to new reporting from Sahil Kapur:
Top Democrats are zeroing in on the massive party-line bill that Republicans are crafting to pass Trump’s agenda, describing it… a bevy of spending cuts — including to Medicaid, the Affordable Care Act and the SNAP program — to help finance its agenda for tax breaks, immigration funding and more.
If their response to Trump’s spending freeze is any indication, they intend to follow through with this plan. Some Senators have pointed out that what Trump is doing is illegal, but already multiple Senators have highlighted what the freeze will mean to the pocketbook of ordinary Americans.
